Contaminated Sediment Management

Contaminated Sediment Management

The management of potentially contaminated sediments includes a wide range of activities from the initial site assessment and characterization to remediation and restoration activities, annual monitoring, and review of post site cleanup.  Our team of internationally recognized sediment experts represents a variety of technical disciplines to address multiple media, complex site exposure pathways, and multiple contaminants of concern.

We focus on understanding the mobility, bioavailability, and toxicity of sediment-bound contaminants as well as distinguishing contaminant related effects from non-contaminant factors.  Using a forensic approach to both chemical analysis and toxicology, we are able to tease apart site-related activities from other sources including naturally occurring factors.
